Material:The mica is muscovite ruby. Colour: Might be ruby or white Chemical Compositions: Ruby, white muscovite mica scrap (Potassium Aluminium Silicate) Purity: Minimum 97% of scrap mica in 2A & 2B. Thickness: Are in between 0.007" to 0.100" Sized: 85% of the material will be retained of screen size ½ inch square or as specified by the customers. Moisture: The material having maximum 0.1% by weight as determined by heating 15 grams at 150°C for one hour. Quality: The muscovite mica scrap will be fresh, dry & free from rust, quartz, tourmaline, garnet, clay, iron oxide biotite (black mica), dust, fines, hard & dark stained. It is free from organic impurities like Wood, Paper, Straw, Plastics & Fabrics. Packing: The muscovite mica scrap is packed in poly line Jute, H.D.P. /P.P. bags: each bags minimum 50kgs. Or maximum 80kgs. Or as per customers requirements. Labeling & Marking: As per customers specification. Weight loss & Colour on firing or ignition: the muscovite mica scrap when fired to completion as per IMIM 402.7 the weight loss shall be 4-5% by weight maximum. The colour of the fired mica scrap will be like Pearly Gray (silver gray).

MICA SCRAP : Mica Scrap is the nomenclature given to the irregular lumps of mica as received from the mines having a area between ½" and 1 ½" sq. This type of mica is mainly exported to plants all over the world to be made into a pulp used for the manufacturing of mica paper and reconstituted mica plates. Domestically, it is used as a raw material for the manufacture of mica flakes and powder.

Daruka Mica Natural Flakes are made out of selected Mica Scrap, Dried, Screened & Sheared.

Process: First the selected mica scrap is dried to avoid any humidity. Secondly mica scrap is screened to avoid dust. Thirdly all the foreign particles like biotite (black Mica), quartz, straw, bamboo (organic & inorganic materials) are removed by hand picking. Here we again screen the material. Now the material is ready to sheared (in grinding machine). Grinded material is then directly through blower sucked & blown in a round screen which is having blower to separate dust from the grinded material & the 8 mesh screen size to bring down the 2-8mesh NATURAL MUSCOVITE RUBY MICA FLAKES. In this case, mica scrap & waste are pulverized by mechanical grinders such as high speed hammer, rod, attrition, mills or cage distintefrators which reduce them to flakes and powder of different mesh sized ranging from 2 to 300 mesh. These flakes and powder are classified into various mesh sizes with the help of sieve classifiers. a) Coarse Mica Flakes: Plus 6 mesh, having a bulk density of 0.17kg/ltr. Have high percentage of relatively large flakes for sealing large openings. b) Medium coarse mica flakes: Plus 10 mesh having a bulk density of 0.18kg/ltr. Area generally used to combat mild circulation losses in porous information c) Fine Mica flakes: Plus 20 mesh having a bulk density of 0.20 kg/ltr are particularly used when a sealing agent is needed small enough to allow the mud to pass through a shaker screen without interfering with the operation. Uses: Natural muscovite mica flakes are used as raw mica material for regrinding, micronizing, sheet and pulp manufacturing for mica paper. Small sized of mica flakes are required for roofing felt industries, decorative purpose & mica board manufacturing to insulate the wall of houses for preventing noise, heat & ultra violet rays. Packing: It depends up to the customer. Generally it's packed in HDP, jute or paper bag of 10,25, 50kgs. Delivery: Minimum one 20' T.E.U. (full container load of 20 ton) Inspection: Can be carried out by the buyer of buyers nominated independent inspection agency before shipment at our works, i.e. P.O.
